The Short Version
- TaxCoach helps you learn about taxes. It is not tax advice and does not file your return.
- Your first month is free if you have not subscribed before. After that it renews by itself until you cancel in your Apple ID settings.
- Check money and tax decisions with a tax professional before you act.
- You need to be 18 or older to use the app.
- The AI assistant is included in your subscription, up to 50 AI requests a day, shared between questions, life updates and document scans.
- If there is ever a dispute, it goes to individual arbitration instead of court.
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using TaxCoach ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to use TaxCoach. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18.

TaxCoach provides general tax education and information only. The App does NOT provide tax advice, legal advice, or professional financial advice. All information, calculations, and suggestions are for educational purposes only.

To ensure compliance with requirements imposed by the IRS, we inform you that any U.S. federal tax advice contained in this application is not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, for the purpose of (i) avoiding penalties under the Internal Revenue Code or (ii) promoting, marketing, or recommending to another party any transaction or matter addressed herein.
Subscription and Billing
TaxCoach is a paid subscription. Your first month is free if you have not subscribed before. After that the plan you chose renews by itself, yearly or monthly, at the price shown in the app when you subscribe.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, and again each time the subscription renews.
- If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before your free month ends, your Apple ID is charged for the first paid period.
- Renewal is automatic unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You manage, change and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. We cannot cancel it for you.
- If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- If you switch to a different plan during your free month, the rest of that free month is given up.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy. We cannot issue them.
- Prices can change. Apple tells you before a new price takes effect, and asks you to agree first if the increase is large enough to need it.
The App Needs an Active Subscription
Once your free month ends, TaxCoach is not available without an active subscription. Your tax profile stays on your phone and is there again when you subscribe.
No Guarantee of Accuracy
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date tax information based on IRS publications and current tax law, we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, accurate, or applicable to your specific situation. Tax laws change frequently, and individual circumstances vary.
Your Responsibilities
By using TaxCoach, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your tax profile
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only
- Not rely solely on the App for tax filing or financial decisions
- Verify all information with a qualified tax professional
- Keep your account password secure
Services We Use
The App integrates with third-party services including Supabase for authentication, OpenAI for AI-powered features, and RevenueCat for subscription management. Your use of these features is also subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. The AI features are included in your subscription at no extra cost, and each account gets up to 50 AI requests per day, shared between questions, life updates and document scans.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxCoach and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.
Disputes and Arbitration
Please Read Carefully
You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of TaxCoach shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court.
Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes only on an individual basis and waive any right to bring or participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
Arbitration shall be conducted by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaxCoach and its creators from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TaxCoach and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
